More McDonald Roundup

I'm sure my readers will be surprised to learn that I'm neither a lawyer nor a constitutional scholar, so I'll leave the McDonald analysis to the other guys:

Says Uncle

Volokh (you'll have to scroll)

From the tenor of things, I'd suspect that anything short of an outright ban will be deemed "reasonable regulation" by federal courts.  While I don't know anything about this matter, I agreed with this opinion piece from the Wall St. Journal.

McDonald Roundup

Via Instapundit:

AT THE VOLOKH CONSPIRACY, a roundup on the Supreme Court’s McDonald argument, where it looks as if Second Amendment incorporation — though under Due Process, not Privileges/Immunities — is likely to fly.

UPDATE: Michael Lotus offers praise for Alan Gura: “The P&I argument in McDonald was a stroke of genius. It made incorporating 2nd Amendment rights via Due Process — something that just a few years ago would have seemed fanciful — look like the sensible, cautious, middle-of-the-road approach.”

Sequel to 'Heller': 'McDonald v. Chicago' Goes Before The Supreme Court

From the NSSF Blog:

The words from the 14th Amendment printed below are central to the McDonald v. City of Chicago case, which will be argued tomorrow before the U.S. Supreme Court. The court will rule on whether cities and states must honor the Second Amendment, which protects the right to keep and bear arms.

Since most states have some version of the RKBA in their state constitutions, the more pertinent question seems to be how that the RKBA gets interpreted.  But a win is a win, and the good guys seem to be on a roll here.  Of course, I don't expect any of this to make it any easier for Californians to order a .50 BMG conversion kit for their AR-15.  And that's why we have the .416 Barrett conversion for ARs.

How the Media View the AR-15

Via Everyday, No Days Off.  I'm going to have to do one for the Tactilite T1 .50 BMG shoulder-fired, anti-aircraft rifle.

Snake Skin Tactilite .50 BMG

This was on display at the SHOT show.  The fine paint job was the creation of Jesse, over at NIC Industries (makers of CeraKote).  Al Bacon of Al's Gun Shop asked to have it on display.  We'll see about getting it over to him.  But, here's a quick couple of pics.Snake_Skin_2

Sighting In with Shooting USA - .50 BMG Upper

Hey, the Tactilite T1 .50 BMG was featured on Sighting In with Shooting USA.  We'll post the video as soon as we can, but we're excited to see our product and our sport get the attention that we promised at the beginning of the year.  Of course, things going as they are, the show referred to us as "Tac-Lite".  I'm sure we'll be hearing from their attorneys, any day now, with a cease and desist letter.  "Get in line behind Ruger!"

Another Glock Torture Test

It's been years and I've seen close to a couple of dozen videos like this.  But, I never get tired of them.

Off Message; Still Funny

I'm pretty sure that this would strike some serious gun folks as wrong, but I found it funny.  Via The Firearms Blog,

It would have been better with a Tactilite T2 in .416 Barrett.

.50 BMG Discreet Carry

The Firearms Blog published a story about the new TAC 2 AR-15 "Discreet Carry" rifle kit.  Nothing breakthrough, but very cool, nonetheless.  And it really has nothing at all to do with a .50 BMG rifle.  I just like to think about doing one up in .50 BMG, with a compact 16.5" barrel and an overall weight of 7 pounds.  Anyone want one?  I'm sure that recoil alone will make quite an impression.  Literally.
