Sighting In with Shooting USA - .50 BMG Upper

Hey, the Tactilite T1 .50 BMG was featured on Sighting In with Shooting USA.  We'll post the video as soon as we can, but we're excited to see our product and our sport get the attention that we promised at the beginning of the year.  Of course, things going as they are, the show referred to us as "Tac-Lite".  I'm sure we'll be hearing from their attorneys, any day now, with a cease and desist letter.  "Get in line behind Ruger!"

Another Glock Torture Test

It's been years and I've seen close to a couple of dozen videos like this.  But, I never get tired of them.

Larimer County Sheriff Alderden for President

Larimer County Sheriff Alderden will not enforce CSU CCW ban.  Via Sharp As A Marble.  I wonder how the wife will feel about moving back to Fort Collins?

Off Message; Still Funny

I'm pretty sure that this would strike some serious gun folks as wrong, but I found it funny.  Via The Firearms Blog,

It would have been better with a Tactilite T2 in .416 Barrett.

.50 BMG Discreet Carry

The Firearms Blog published a story about the new TAC 2 AR-15 "Discreet Carry" rifle kit.  Nothing breakthrough, but very cool, nonetheless.  And it really has nothing at all to do with a .50 BMG rifle.  I just like to think about doing one up in .50 BMG, with a compact 16.5" barrel and an overall weight of 7 pounds.  Anyone want one?  I'm sure that recoil alone will make quite an impression.  Literally.

Another Use for a .50 BMG Rilfe

A 1 mile kill shot.  Oh, wait, I guess that's actually the primary use of .50 BMG rifle.  Cool video, anyway.

Shoulder Firing a .50 BMG? Big Deal.

I was just sent this clip of a soldier (or Marine) firing a Barrett M107 from his shoulder.  Of course, it's fun.  I do it several times a week.  But, I think the 18.5" version of our .50 BMG conversion kits are the most fun to shoulder fire.  Someone get one of those into the hands of our warfighters.

American Rifleman Names .338 Lapua Bolt-Action Rifle of The Year

Via Says Uncle, American Rifleman names a .338 Lapua bolt-action as rifle of the year.  Sure, it's the Barrett and not the Zel Custom.  But, for $2500 less, you can have the Tactilite T2 in .338 Lapua Mag with a Lothar Walther barrel.

Mystery .50 Cal

About a month ago, police in New Jersey arrested a man suspected of intending to attack Fort Drum.  It was widely reported that the man had an AR-15 that was "modified" to shoot a .50 cal.  I never heard anything more about this.  I am curious whether it was a .50 BMG or a .50 Beowulf.  Anyone know?

Huh? AR-15 chambered in 7.62x39?

According to the esteemed The Firearms Blog, Bushmaster will release a AR-15 chambered in 7.62x39.  I always like something new and different (say, like a .50 BMG upper for an AR-15), so good on Bushmaster for that.  I wonder, though, how many of these they can sell.  What do they know that we don't?  Is the Freedom Group buying Wolf Ammo?  Is Bushmaster looking at the third world as the next great growth market?  Are they just out of ideas?  I had better watch out for them coming out with a .338 Lapua conversion kit for the AR-15.
